According to the Jump On It website, the Sydney company was founded by 3 "serial internet entrepreneurs" Colin Fabig, James Gilbert, and Adam Rigby.
The start-up first recieved funding in May 2009 from Nextec Capital and then November 2010 secured an additional $5 million in funding from US group buying giant LivingSocial. The funding was announced shortly after rival OurDeal partnered with Network Ten.
A major player in the local group-buying market, Jump On It has gone to some extraordinary lengths to attract new customers, even unleashing guerrilla marketing tactics on unsuspecting Ferry commuters in Sydney's Circular Quay. They also offered Sydney-siders free bus rides in a branded bus service that tied in with each day's daily deal.
